Usually, I wander around the Sandia Mountains on Albuquerque’s east side, today I decided to explore to the west. The Three Sisters volcanoes in Albuquerque, New Mexico, are a fascinating natural feature located within the West Mesa area, part of the Rio Grande Rift. They are part of the Albuquerque Volcanic Field and hold geological, cultural, and scenic significance.

2006-07-13 14:08Holy Frak! You learn something new everyday—who would have thought volcanoes in New Mexico. Thanks for enlightening me. Here’s a bit of information you might not have known—running through Central Texas there’s a fault line, pretty close to us in San Antonio. When I first heard of it I was like WHAT?! This ain’t California.
