This is the Menaul Trailhead, the beginning of one of the many hiking trails in the Sandia Mountain Foothills. I don’t do much hiking but it seems like once you get moving on the trails they all seems to criss cross. This particular trail also has some picnic tables with shelter where you can go hangout in the mountains even if your not in the mood to hike. I have never seen anyone taking advantage of these tables.

The photo of the picnic area was taken many, many, many moons ago – 17 years ago to be exact. I don’t even think the BBQ is still there – was probably removed due to fire danger.
