The Nativo Lodge underwent a recent renovation. Michael Toya, a Jemez Pueblo artist, dedicated months to creating these remarkable, large-scale, five-story murals adorning the hotel’s exterior. Additionally, he designed one of the Artist Rooms within the hotel. The front page of the linked website features a video showcasing Mr. Toya’s design process and the symbolic significance behind his artwork.

The hotel offers a diverse range of accommodations, with the Artist Rooms being particularly noteworthy. As stated by the hotel, “We have commissioned Native American contemporary artists to transform our guest rooms into large-scale, livable installation works of art. These artist rooms provide our guests with an unparalleled lodging experience.”

Although I have not had the opportunity to stay at this hotel, I would highly recommend it as a potential destination for travelers seeking a unique and culturally enriching experience.
