So, we went out to the supermarket and the truck decided tonight was a good night to plotz. As we pulled into the parking spot …. it stalled and wouldn’t start again. I called AAA and they sent out a technician to diagnose the problem … we were thinking something simple like the battery. Is it ever something simple …. anyway, the tech diagnosed it as the alternator …. YAY … so we had to get towed home.

It took the first tech about 45 minutes to get to us … and he had to call a tow truck and it took the tow truck another hour. Both guys who showed up worked fast to get the job done. Once the tow truck showed up the truck was loaded in about 5 minutes but there was only room for one of us in the cab. The other person went with the truck and I called for a Lyft. Took the Lyft about 5 minutes to show up. Blessedly, the driver had the heat on.

It’s about 35 degrees tonight and I figured I was just going between the front door and the truck – the truck and the store …. so I didn’t wear a coat. I was not expecting to be sitting in a car with no heater for better than 2 hours.

Kudos to AAA, Santa Fe Tow for getting the job done quickly and to the Lyft driver for having the heat on!
