I actually took this at the end of the summer. Dog was let out at 6 am and this little fellow invited himself in. I woke up to the dog tearing through the house like a fool so I jumped out of bed to see what all the hullabaloo was about. Sunshine had him cornered in the shower. He flew over the shower door and ran. Sunshine ran into the bedroom and I thought the roadrunner had gone into the living room – so I lock Sunshine in the bedroom. Then I heard the roadrunner clacking … have MERCY – I had locked them both in the same room.

So, I opened the door and grabbed Sunshine. Okay – at least they were separated. I escorted her out the house and into the backyard. Now to deal with the bird who was pooping all over my bathroom. When I opened the door he was just sitting on the sink huffing and puffing from his harrowing ordeal but I am pretty sure he was thinking – “Hey, thanks for saving my life!”

Now to find a way to escort the bird out the house. I tried grabbing it with a towel … that was a no go. Then I tried opening the bathroom window … he didn’t get the message. Next I saw an empty laundry basket on the floor … so I grabbed that and put it over his head like a cage. I pulled it a bit forward and he fell into the dirty clothes hamper … so I left the laundry basket as a lid – so to speak – and carried the whole thing out front (the dog was in the backyard trying to wake all the neighbors) …. and as soon as I took the “lid” off and laid the basket on it’s side – off he ran.

That was WAY too much excitement for 6 AM!!
