There is a homeless community, or there used to be, that lives under that bridge. The arroyo runs for quite a ways and there are several tunnels like this – that the homeless use as shelter or used to. You never see them going in or out but some years back I had a friend who worked to help the homeless. She used to go down there (only certain people were allowed with out upsetting them – so I didn’t go with her but I helped her pack the provisions) . to bring them necessities.

She used to pack non-perishable food items, bottled of water or juice, toiletries, socks, toilet paper and women’s sanitary products.
