I found what is left of this building on the NM 14 coming home from Madrid on Thursday. All of these “ruins” fascinate me but this one more so than usual. This one looks like it could have been a church or maybe a school house. I need to get to the library and see if I can find some information about them!

2007-04-08 05:03It even looks like a wheelchair ramp in the front. Nice photo. Here, where I live, in Brookville, Ohio, we have some buildings that are ready to fall down. One did, not long ago, and the place it once stood is now covered in grass. Fortunately it fell at night and nobody was around.

2007-04-10 16:05I have a photo of the same ruins back in 1992. Found a site that says it was the old Golden schoolhouse.

Scroll down until you find the photo.

2007-07-29 11:33I live near this ruin and was told by locals it was a school house. the church is just east of this building, still standing and not nearly as beautiful. question….does anyone know of a church that might look like this in new mexico or close by. I am getting married and would like nothing more than to get married in a fallen down rock church that nature has taken over.
