This is the pole from yesterday’s post. It is a milage marker of sorts and I figured I would post it just in case anyone was wondering how far Albuquerque is from Denver, Colorado; El Paso, Texas; Los Angeles, California or Chicago, Illinois!

Abraham Lincoln - oldmanlincoln
2007-02-18 03:58Thank you for coming to my blog, Helen, and leaving a comment about my hawks. Why do I know the name, Vanderbeek? When I saw that my mind began to race. It is unusual and unlike mine, Abraham Lincoln, who everyone seems to know. LOL Anyway, did one of your relatives work at NCR a long time ago? I also like your photographs a lot and the signpost reminded me of one that was in the heart of Sendai, Japan back in 1953. It was painted by hand with mileage to different cities in the states. That URL is on my blog or website. Thanks again.

It’s funny that the sign doesn’t go further east than Chicago. I spent almost a decade along the east coast, and the farthest west I ever lived was around Chicago.
