When they were cutting some branches off my tree this afternoon this poor little guy either got knocked out of his nest or fell out of his nest. From the tip of his beak to the tip of his tail he was less than 2 inches long and can’t fly yet. I put him in a box under the tree hoping Mama Bird would come for him but she didn’t appear to be anywhere around.
Anyways, to make a long story short I found a lady who rehabilitates baby hummingbirds and brought him to her. She said he is going to be fine … he will probably be released back into the wild in a few weeks when he learns how to fly.

2009-09-15 19:10Can you point me to someone who takes abandoned baby birds in Albuquerque or Rio Rancho? I’m desperately trying to locate one asap. Thanks!
