A blast from the past …. I had so much fun looking at all this stuff at Chocolate Dude. They had an H.R. Pufnstuf lunch box and a stuffy of the H.R. Pufnstuf character. I have not thought about that show in a L – O – N – G, long time. I think my favorite on this shelf is the purple haired troll but then again the lava lamp is pretty awesome too. Oh … who am I kidding … I loved it all.
The guy with the wooden stick was making caramel and the other two folks were dipping chocolate. The aroma of the chocolate and coffee made Chocolate Dude the best smelling place in Nob Hill.
I have driven by Chocolate Dude I don’t know how many times and each time I say, “I need to stop there and see what they are all about!” Tonight I did. The inside of the place is really neat as you will see in the coming days. I tried an Americano and was not all that all that impressed. It was a weak cup of coffee. I didn’t try the chocolate but it looks amazing and the people who worked there are quite welcoming. Maybe next time I will try some chocolate.
We shared an appetizer order of Sweet Potato Fries at O’Niell’s in Nob Hill on New Years Eve. The light colored dipping sauce is a cajun remoulade, which is deliciously spicy, and the dark sauce is an apple-cranberry, which is sweet and tart all at the same time. And the fries are so delicious you don’t really need either.
Need to go to O’Niell’s in Nob Hill and try their brunch. I bet it’s delicious.
We went to O’Niell’s on New Year’s Eve to ring in the Dublin New Year (5 PM MST) with High Desert Pipes and Drums. I had the Spicy Mac and Cheese and it was bar none the BEST Mac and Cheese I have ever had.
Gioco describes themselves as “a full service bar, wall to wall TV’s, and a high quality sound system. Our menu includes unique artisanal pizzas, pressed panini’s, fresh salads, and more! Enjoy top selling domestic and imported beers, extensive wine options, or our signature cocktails like the Lobo Margarita!”
I don’t really know much about the Route 66 Hostel but I love the building.
