Spring and Mountain Hiking Trails

Looking forward to spring and this photo is a throw back to last spring. January always seems so much longer than 31 days. This is an entrance to a mountain hiking trail in the Cibola National Forest. When it’s really dry and there is a fire danger many if not all of these trail get closed.

That plant with the white bloom of flowers on top is a Yucca which New Mexico adopted as it’s state flower in 1927.

  1. Helen says:

@William – Yes, Yucca plants were totally foreign to me when I first moved to Albuquerque. I don’t know what climate best suits this plant but we didn’t have them in NY.

Thanks for leaving me a comment!!
