The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is going to be here before we know it. This year it runs from October 7th to October 15th. Two of my favorite events are the Special Shape Glowdeo and the Special Shapes Mass Ascension. Here’s this years calendar of events.
Balloon Fiesta is one of my favorite happenings in Albuquerque. While it is a whole lot of fun to go down to Balloon Fiesta Park and see the mass ascensions ( 100’s of balloons all going up at once) you can actually see the balloons from all over the city. Hundreds of hot air balloons flying all at once is an amazing sight.
There were some hot air balloons up today which is really unusual for the middle of December. There was no wind to speak of though so the balloons were pretty stationary in the air. They just sort of went up and down like a yo-yos. It was pretty chilly on the ground though, so it must have been really cold up there.
Driving by Einstein Bagel today, I noticed that the had their window decorated for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. The Balloon Fiesta is October 3 – 11 this year.
I also took this photo at the Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum. There are 4 sides to this art piece, each depicting a different southwest scene. However, I can’t find any information about it. Like who the artist is and what they were trying to accomplish with this piece. It’s actually quite beautiful.
And another camera shy selfie to compliment our April 1st Theme Day.
This was shot at the front of the Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum here in Albuquerque.
I have lived in Albuquerque for 22 years and I have seen the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta 22 times. It never gets old! Amazing everytime. I have never seen a Felix the Cat Balloon, which is rather unfortunate. I love Felix the Cat. This van was parked down in Old Town while the High Desert Pipes and Drums were playing.
Hot Air Balloons flying over my backyard during The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta this year. The lion balloon’s name is Simba.
These Edible Arrangements are really, really expensive but the fruit is delicious and it made her smile!! This particular arrangement was purchased at the Edible Arrangements on Montgomery.
I was waiting for the coffee to brew yesterday afternoon and I was enjoying the blue color of the sky and the feeling of the sun coming through the window. Just a pretty day here in Albuquerque. Taken with my cell phone.
