I love clouds … all kinds of clouds. These clouds were so low it looked as if you could reach out and grab them but I’ve actually seen them even lower were they’re actually sitting on the ground. I think they are attempting to shroud Sandia Mountain but the mountain is doing a pretty good job of peeking through.
I find these blue tailed lizards in my pool all the time. They are scared of us and desperately try to get out of the pool when we get in but they can’t. I don’t want to handle them because if they get scared enough they make their tail fall off. So, I take a fly swatter and put it under them and as they step on it I move it up out of the pool. They run off into the jungle and live happily ever after.
The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is going to be here before we know it. This year it runs from October 7th to October 15th. Two of my favorite events are the Special Shape Glowdeo and the Special Shapes Mass Ascension. Here’s this years calendar of events.
Balloon Fiesta is one of my favorite happenings in Albuquerque. While it is a whole lot of fun to go down to Balloon Fiesta Park and see the mass ascensions ( 100’s of balloons all going up at once) you can actually see the balloons from all over the city. Hundreds of hot air balloons flying all at once is an amazing sight.
Jubilation Wine and Spirits – I don’t drink so I have never had reason to visit this place but according to the website in 2016 it won Best Wine and Spirits Shop, Best Beer Selection and Best Liquor Store. On September 1st between 4 pm and 6 pm the Odell Brewing Company is doing a beer tasting.
One of my favorite things about Albuquerque and I guess all places with mountains …. is when the clouds make shadows on the mountains. This is the Sandia Mountains and they border Albuquerque’s east side. For the past few days the clouds have been doing a spectacular job of making shadows on the mountains.
I didn’t realize how long it’s been since I posted. This was taken through the truck windshield on San Pedro NE as we ran into yet another cluster of road work as we were trying to avoid the roadwork that hung us up for an hour and 45 minutes yesterday. Every single major road that we need to take to get from North Albuquerque down to South Albuquerque is torn up. Why did they have to do EVERY single road at the same time? DUMB
