The Rattlesnake Museum in Old Town is a must see for anyone who is looking for a unique experience. When we first moved to Albuquerque my son was 6 and he wanted to visit this museum in the worst way. So we took him and he lasted about 5 minutes … then he broke into tears and wanted to know why we made him go there.

Haven’t tried this place yet but I really love the coffee cup shaped bush with the straws in it. It was attention grabbing and and made me want to try there product. I am a bit of a caffeine junkie so I am looking forward to trying Mocha Mud.

This is a prickly pear cactus. The fruits these produce are actually edible and from what I understand from others … very tasty. I am not very adventourous as far as food is concerned, therefore I have never been brave enough to try them so I can not speak for their flavor. I also know that they are considered to have many other uses.

As I watched this man and his dog walking through the parking lot here I had to wonder who was walking who? They were heading towards Petsmart and I think maybe the little dog was anticipating the treat he knew was coming his way.

Moptops is a hair cutting place for kids. I have never been there as my kids are not kids anymore … but if they were I am sure they would have loved to go here.

Andy the Ornate Box Turtle

I was going out to check the mail today and there walking up the front walk as if he were coming to visit is this box turtle. My first thought was …. boy that leaf really looks like a turtle … then he moved his head. At that point I made a mental note to WEAR my glasses when I go to check the mail.
So I went and got a box for Andy to live in for a bit till I could find a reptile rescue. Which I did … the Rio Grande Turtle and Tortoise Club gladly took him. Poor little guy had a big chip off the back of his shell but he was feisty as heck and I am sure he will be fine.
