I did not take this photo … a friend of mine did …. and she graciously allowed me to post it on Albuquerque Daily Photo. I am not a morning person so I rarely see dawn and in 20 years of living in Albuquerque I have never been to the South Valley.

A Chile Ristra … they come in all sizes. The FruitBasket had 1 foot, 2 foot, 3 foot and 4 foot. This was the 4 foot.
Chile Roaster

It’s chile roasting season here in New Mexico and they were roasting Hatch Chile at The Fruit Basket of Albuquerque. When they roast the chile it is so potent that the air is filled with the smell and burn of chile. It cost 25.00 for about 35 pounds of roasted chile.

The Mariachi Connection

Mariachi and Ballet Folklorico are traditional arts of Mexico. My daughter took Ballet Folklorico in high school and it was a great way for her to learn something about Mexican culture. The Mariachi Connection has four locations … three in Texas and one here in Albuquerque. You can get everything from the costumes and shoes you need for Ballet Folklorico to the instruments you need for Mariachi.
Cigar?

I do not smoke unless I am on fire but some friends of mine are into smoking cigars. They frequent cigar bars and talk fo the best cigar they have ever smoked. Some even rent a humidor to store there cigars at the bar. To each his or her own but I think they stink …. even the good ones.
