Protection From Aliens

In reality my guess is that they are actually trying to protect their products from the hot New Mexico sun but being a science fiction person…. the first place my head goes is to the aliens.

Simple Pleasures of Childhood

This little girl was walking along the shore of the lake with her Grandma and little brother. Every now and again she would stop and smack the water with that little stick she is carrying. Splashing like mad she would smile from ear to ear and just radiate joy. It made her so happy. I need to take a few lessons from kids like this who find so much pleasure in such a simple act.

Duck with A BIG Tude

This duck was hilarious. She /he would come up and eat out of our hands then chase off any other duck was was thinking of approaching for a bite. Then she would go in the water, get a drink and start the whole routine over again.

The Goose Family

So , I hijacked my partner’s camera and went to Tingly Beach to play with the ducks again. She has the same camera that I do but it’s not my camera and feels foreign. I really miss my camera!

I Stand ALoneAs you can tell by the snow on the ground I did not take this photo recently. My camera is in the Camera Shop for repairs and I am picking through the archives. I took this up in the Sandia Mountains in April of 2006.

Tomorrow is Albuquerque Daily Photo’s Second Anniversary.

The Welcoming Committee

When we first pulled into the parking lot these are the four that came running hoping that we had some munchies for them. They stared us down for about 5 minutes and then another car pulled in. They hit the jackpot … this lady had grub for them. They followed her all over the lake.

Ducky Umbrella

Ducky Umbrella

It was raining a bit here and I am not sure if the yellow duck was resting her head on Brownie or if she was trying to protect her from the rain.

Watching these two was extremely entertaining. If one got up and moved the other one got up and moved with him. Probably because it was chilly and damp and they were huddling for warmth. However, whoever moved first got QUACKED at in protest.

This was also taken at Tingley Beach.

Mother Goose

Mother Goose

I took this photo at Tingly Beach. This was the only goose and gosling I saw and I did not dare get any closer for fear of aggravating Mother Goose.  These two just went about there business as if they were the only two at the lake.

However, there were plenty of ducks to keep me entertained. When you pull into the parking lot a whole bunch of ducks come toward the car … and as a few other cars pulled in I discovered why. They are expecting to be fed. They are not aggressive about it at all … they just come and stare at you till they realize that you are not going to feed them and then they wonder off.
