Eagle are such regal looking birds. I took this photo at the Rio Grande Zoo. They have 2 eagles that were injured and can no longer fly. There names are Icarus and Daedalus.

The winter Sandia Mountains through the leafless trees. I am going to miss these mountians when I move!
The Newstand

When I first moved to Albuquerque a friend from New York came to visit. He was a shy, quiet guy who fancied himself a man of the world even though he had never been outside of NY. One day, shortly after he arrived he decided to go explore Albuquerque … by foot. As he was wondering he decided he needed a newspaper and figured he was the luckiest guy around because, well he was right across the street from The Newstand. Well, when he got back to the house he was still flustered and blushing. The Newstand, you see, does not carry newspapers … it carries adult entertainment products and movies. We never let him live that down and yes, he still blushes if we remind him!
Bank of the West Building

When I first moved to Albuquerque in 1990, I used this building, The Bank of the West Tower, as a reference point. I knew that as long as I could see this building I could find my way home. It is the tallest building in the area and can be seen for miles.
I am really sorry that I have not been posting everyday. Right after the new year my partner wound up in the ICU with pneumonia She is home now and while doing better she is still on 24/7 oxygen. I am hoping to be posting daily by the 1st of February.

This lovely pink dinosaur sits in front of Gizmo’s. I am not even sure what kind of store Gizmo’s is but I love the bike helmet.
Downtown Construction

All I could think of when I saw this was it’s going to really be a mess if that falls and I really hope there is nobody standing under it! As it turns out the road was blocked off so that no one could get under it but the construction workers.
Now Hiring Breakfast Burritos

I though that a restaurant serving both Mexican and Greek food was interesting. But I thought the sign under it was hilarious! They are hiring breakfast burritos 24/7. Cesar’s has some really good food … especially the breakfast burritos!
