I love the way the cloud’s shadows appear on the mountains on days like today. We had some glorious thunderstorms the day I took this!

I was driving through a small village not too far from Albuquerque and I saw this sign. I found it amusing but proceeded to travel the speed limit just in case!

There is nothing for as far as the eye can see. I have to wonder what those wires are running to and from? This is the east face of the Sandia Mountains!

Real or Memorex?

In various places through out downtown Albuquerque there are these incredibly life like, life sized statues. If you look fast as you are going along in your travels you don’t know they are not real people.
I love the shirt on the skateboarder and the shopping bag in the little girls hand. Makes it all the more life like!
This particular group is out side the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

This fellow guards The University of New Mexico campus on the corner of Central Ave. and University Blvd. As New Mexico does not have a professional sports team as of yet, the sports teams from The University of New Mexico which is located in Albuquerque, are quite popular. All of the sports teams associated with The University are named The Lobos . Even the daily college newspaper is named “The Daily Lobo.”

I was driving by this bank in down town Albuquerque and these flowers just screamed to have their picture taken. So I took it.

1706 to 2006
This year Albuquerque celebrated its Tricentennial . For its 300th birthday some body thought fancy new trash bins on the streets would be lovely. And lovely they would be if people would just use them.
You can see a close up of the plaque on the lovely trash bin at Albuquerque Extra.

As I was passing Civic Plaza today in 100 degree heat this fountain looked quite inviting. However, I am not a big fan of being hauled off in hand cuffs so I resisted to urge to throw myself in.
Civic Plaza, in the summer months of June and July, holds a Summer Fest on Saturday Nights. Each week this year celebrates a different style of music.
This coming Saturday, June 24th is International Night which should be fun. But the one I am really looking forward to is July 22nd which is Oldies Night.

This tree just looked so “broken” I had to take this photo.
